For 40 days prior to the 2006 Election the Presidential Prayer Team prayed:
- Pray for all citizens to faithfully seek God’s will concerning candidates and issues…
- Pray for godly leaders to be elected on November 7
So, did they get what they prayed for? Is this an example of: "Be careful what you pray for, you might just get it"? Are the Democrats who were elected godly leaders? Are the loosers ungodly?

ABOUT THE PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER TEAM
Many across America and Americans in other countries are heeding the call to pray for our President. In a short time since the September 11 terrorist attacks, well over a million people have registered their promise to pray daily for the President. That number is increasing by the thousands of new team members every month. News of The Presidential Prayer Team is spreading rapidly throughout America as people march to the tempo of an almost forgotten tune, "God Bless America."
The independent, nonprofit organization behind The Presidential Prayer Team, has a singular purpose: to encourage Americans to pray daily for the President.

Tuesday was an exciting day as we watched Americans exercise the highest privilege of the democratic process. Millions went to the polls and voted, and Tuesday's results reveal great change and new winds blowing--one thing we all know for certain is that God is in control, and His purposes can and will continue to be achieved, both in Washington and in our country.
While it was good to watch the elections, I have to say the Monday was an even more thrilling day as more than 9,000 faithful intercessors joined hearts and minds in prayer during our Pray the Vote Online Prayer Rally.
For me personally, it was exciting to be a part of such a dynamic prayer effort. Praying with thousands for the elections gave me a sense of encouragement and strength as we all participated together in prayer for today's election.
This has been a great week in the life of our nation. Even though I have only one vote and one prayer, when my efforts combined with yours, together we make a powerful difference! Now that we know the results of the elections, we are invigorated to move forward with regular, daily prayer for all those in authority!

In this week’s National Religious Broadcasters White House Conference Call, President Bush’s liaison to the religious community, Tim Goeglein, reminded Christians about the importance of voting to their citizenship. “The first duty of Christian citizenship is to vote. I cannot stress enough how important this is.” Speaking in with members of the religious media, including The Presidential Prayer Team, Goeglein also reminded members that values are crucial in the election process. “I urge Christians everywhere to vote their values, for this is crucial to their citizenship as well.”
PPT Editor Meagan Gillan reminded Goeglein that thousand of PPT members were praying on November 6 in PPT’s Pray the Vote Online Prayer Rally, asking what prayer efforts he was aware of in Washington or at the White House. “I have received so many calls, letters and emails from people telling me that they are praying for these elections. I can’t express enough how crucial it is that people pray for this country, that God’s will is done in this election.” Goeglein further reminded listeners on the call that we must remain non-partisan in our prayer efforts, while expressing gratitude on the part of his boss. “The President mentions often his gratitude for prayer. As the elections approach, the prayer efforts are too numerous to count, and he is so grateful.”
